Description
Eden Vineyard offers a selection of four grape varieties for dark wine and juices. We offer four excellent processing varieties for producing high-quality wines and juices. These varieties are typically dessert and processing varieties. They have very sweet, juicy fruit. They are among the most attractive processing varieties grown in Poland. These varieties can be grown throughout the country and do not require any special care, winter protection, or spraying.
Below are the descriptions of the grape varieties included in the selection:
Leon Millot is one of the most popular and reliable processing grape varieties in the Polish climate. It is a French-American hybrid, valued for its high frost and disease resistance. The clusters are small to medium-sized, cylindrical-conical, and quite compact. The berries are small and spherical, with dark blue (almost black) skin covered with a light, waxy coating. It ripens early. The fruit typically reaches maturity in the first half of September, making it suitable for cultivation even in colder regions of Poland. It is very frost-resistant, withstanding temperatures as low as -25°C or even -28°C.
REGENT – a German variety that ripens in early October. A high-yielding variety that produces round, navy-blue, tasty fruit, ideal for making high-quality red wine. The bushes are moderately resistant to disease and low temperatures, and are recommended for growing under cover or in exceptionally warm and sheltered locations outdoors.
SALOME – a very good processing variety for producing high-quality wine and juice. It appeared in Poland only a few years ago and is still very little known, although it seems to perform exceptionally well in our country as well. Frost hardiness: -24°C. The fruit color is navy blue.
CABERNET CANTOR is a modern, dark grape variety from Germany that’s winning the hearts of winemakers (especially in cooler climates like Poland) thanks to its high resistance. It ripens mid-early (usually around the turn of September and October). It’s very frost-resistant, withstanding temperatures down to -24°C.
